Gas cylinders are strong, but the inside pressure depends on temperature. When ambient heat raises the temperature around a cylinder, the gas inside wants to expand, increasing the pressure. If a cylinder isn’t designed to tolerate temperatures above a certain limit, storing it hotter than that can push the pressure past what the vessel can safely handle, risking leaks or a rupture. That’s why the maximum storage temperature for a gas cylinder not designed for higher temperatures is 130 degrees Fahrenheit. So, keep cylinders in a cool, ventilated area away from direct sun and heat sources, and always follow the cylinder’s rating on its label or datasheet. The other temperatures would be either safer within the limit or exceed what the cylinder is designed to withstand.
